December Glossybox

Well it's definitely Christmas now, I received my Christmas Glossybox!! So excited! I wouldn't say
they have particularly chosen Christmas related products but all the same  I am happy with the box.
The actual box itself is great, I really love these special boxes, from the Christmas tree made up of
beauty products on the front to the candy cane wrapping and green tissue inside.

The products this month are :
  -Wilkinson Sword Intuition Razor £6.49
  - Beautiful Movement Cosmetics Lip Gloss £12
    for 8ml.
  - Sanctuary Spa -Active Reverse Resurface &
Refine Ultra Polish £12 for 200ml
  - Seche Nail Lacquer £9.95 for 14ml
  - Maybelline Color Tattoo 24hr Eye Shadow £4.99

My favourite product is most definitely the
Maybelline Color Tattoo, I already own a few of
these (luckily not this colour) and I absolutely love
them. They are so versatile and are great under
eyeshadow or even just on there own for a quick
  make up look.

Overall I think I will get use out of everything in
this box and I am super pleased with it. I just wish
they had made the products a bit more
Christmassy. Maybe put a bit of glitter and sparkle
in. All the same I'm happy with the products so
  mustn't complain :)

  Merry Christmas Everyone

Wedding Dress Shopping for the Larger Girl

So it's no secret that I am overweight. It's something I really struggle with and I'm working on losing a bunch of weight for my wedding in July, however I couldnt leave looking for a dress until then as they take around 6 months to be delivered which means its time to look now. It's the one thing I have been dreading doing since we started planning the wedding. Everyone said I would be fine and I would love it. I completely disagreed with them. I spent an insane amount of time googling what I should wear and what to expect, that just made me worse though. As the dreaded day drew closer I got more and more anxious and nervous, and then it was here, RIGHT NOW! I was standing waiting to try on wedding dresses and all that was going thrugh my mind was, they won't fit around me, I'm not exactly my ideal weight right now. The woman in the shop however was super nice and made me feel right at home and a lot more relaxed. Once I got that first dress on, and done up, I was so much happier. I ended up choosing the 2nd dress I had tried on after only an hour in the shop, I thought it would take much longer as I dont like anything on me at the moment. I'm so happy with my choice, it is so flattering even at the size I am just now, I can't wait to wear it on my wedding day. So a quick message to anyone out there going through the same as me, just go do it , don't be afraid, It's not scary and the people in these shops see people of all different shapes and sizes all the time, they are not there to judge you. Enjoy it!
:) xx

My First Ever MAC Product!

I am so excited to finally be able to write about a MAC product. I have been looking at the MAC website for such a long time and dreaming about owning their products, but always telling myself NO, I can't justify spending that much money on make up at the moment. Maybe one day! That was working quite well for me until I went on a day out to edinburgh and in the last shop of the day (Harvey Nichols) it happened! I went in, looked to my left and there it was , MAC! Oh Dear!
Now that it was right in front of me I had to buy something, I just couldnt resist.
Luckily I went shopping with my Auntie and my mum who directed me to a sensible choice, foundations. The member of staff who helped us was amazing . Straight away she knew exactly what would work for my skin tone. She was really friendly as well, I don't know why but I expected them to be horrible.I think I just assume people are going to judge me for going to these counters when I quite clearly am not a make up pro! So anyway, I chose to go with the Pro Longwear foundation in NW15 at £25.00. I really wanted to try a lipstick as well but couldnt decide on one and the shop was about to close so left it for now.
So now I have my foundation home and have used it a few times for work and for general days off out and about , I absoloutely love it. It's a really light natural looking foundation and lasts so long. I am super happy with this purchase and think it was well worth the higher price tag. hopefully this is the start of a long and happy relationship between myself and mac :)

What's In My Bag?

So I thought it was about time I jumped on the band wagon and did a What's in my bag post. I'm afraid my day to day work bag isn't all that exciting but I know how much I love reading these posts so hopefully someone will get some enjoyment out of this :)
So firstly the bag is by Radley London. I have had it for a couple of years and unfortunately I don't think it is available now. However there is a bag called the Johnston which looks to be a very similar style so that's maybe worth a look if you like this one. I really love this bag it's a medium sort of size and perfect for when I don't need to carry too much stuff around, at the moment I am using it as my work bag. I live about a 5 minute walk (if that) from where I work so why I feel the need to carry so much stuff I have no idea. My purse is also by Radley and is an even older style than the bag but I bought it off Ebay recently and it is just like new so I am so pleased with it. It's a small purse but with lots of space.
I also carry a pencil case, because there is never any pens at work! This is the pink sparkly one in the picture , I think I got this from Sainsburys last year.
I always have a notebook with me for any ideas I have or anything I am told to do that I cant forget! (I still usually forget) I really like the pukka pad project books and have far too many of them. Im a stationeryaholic!
My diary is something which I use religiously when I first purchase one and then it's just kinda there, forgotten and unloved. I have no idea why I do that? I guess I just get lazy. This one was from Tescos and i think they have a similar one available for 2014.
The famous tangle teaser is my choice of brush at the moment and its amazing. I looked at these for a while before I purchased it as I thought they were a bit pricey, but thanks to my Boots Advantage card I had a fair bit of money to spend so I got one and I dont regret it, I would definately recommend them.
I also have a Glamour magazine that I bought at work yesterday to read in my break , bargain at £2 and a free nail polish woohoo. I don't read this magazine every month  but like to pick it up now and again and who can resist a freebie.
Very uninteresting product next, my deodorant. It's just a Palmolive Soft and Gentle Passion Flower and Black Orchid and it is my favourite.

So the Minnie Mouse case was a purchase from Primark in the summer and cost a couple of pounds roughly and it has become my Just Incase case! As you can see I like to keep essentials in it, tissues, vicks inhaler, perfume sample, lip products, eye liner, hand sanitizer, hand food, and some pain killers. What else could you need? Actually I think I have some hair bobbles and Kirby grips in there now as well :)
And finally my work keys!!

That's the contents of my bag hope you enjoyed :)

I'm Back! :)

So I just wanted to write a quick post to let the world know I am still here! I have been really busy recently and just not had a lot of writing inspiration or time. To top it all off I got a little kitten :) Her name is Jess and she is now 11 weeks old and just the cutest little thing ever. It's too hard to concentrate on anything when she is around.

So now that things have calmed down again and Jess is all settled in and I have my new MacBook Pro :) finally, it's time to get cracking again with my blog. I have lots of blogpost ideas and things I want to write about so I'm gonna get started on those asap, but in the meantime just wanted to let you people of the internet know I haven't abandoned you!

Speak to you soon

"The London Edition" - September Glossybox

I was so excited when this month's Glossybox arrived at my door, partly because I didn't expect it to arrive as early as it did, and partly because I knew it was a special edition box and couldn't wait to find out what was inside! I definitely wasn't disappointed. When you open the outer packaging you find a new GB mag, which is a great little glossy magazine. Underneath that is the special edition Union Jack box, which is absolutely gorgeous and I can't wait to find a use for it. The best part is after opening it I realise I love amd will use all 5 products this month, 4 of which are full sized products! Wow!

The first product to catch my eye was the Eylure Pre Glued Eyelashes. I have never ever tried false eyelashes before but always wanted to. These ones aren't too over the top, just plain, so maybe they will give me the push I need to try them out. :)
They are £5.06 for a set.

Next up was the Toni and Guy Hair Meet Wardrobe Classic Shine and Gloss Serum. Bit of a mouthful there but looks like a great product. I have never used a serum in my hair before and was so keen to try it that I have. It's great! My hair honestly felt like I had just had it done at a salon and I kept finding myself running my fingers through my hair because it just felt so nice. Really pleased with this product.
30ml of this product costs £7.19 and this is the size we received.

I think this may be my favourite product in the box this month. It is a little sample of the Elizabeth Arden Un told perfume. It smells amazing, my first thoughts were that it reminds me of my Gucci Guilty perfume but that might just be me. I really like how this is like a miniature of the full size rather than just a little vial. I'm totally in love with this and seriously considering buying the full size.
We were given a 5ml sample and the 50ml bottle costs £48.

The next product that I was excited to see was the HD Brows Blusher. This is a brand I have heard a lot about but haven't yet tried any of their products, so I was excited to give them a shot. The colour of the blusher is quite a deep pink and looks so nice on, it's not too much. It really feels like a high quality product, and so it should at £17.95.

So last but not least I got the Be a Bombshell Cosmetics Onyx Eyeliner. I wasn't overly excited at first by this as I have a lot of eyeliners, but when I opened it up all that's a felt tip style eyeliner. Yey! Yet another thing I have never tried!! This costs $14.

So overall this box had me super excited to the point I think I may have annoyed everyone around me by going on and on about it! I love all the products this month and can't wait to try them all out!

My August Favourites!

Welcome to my first Monthly Favourites blog. I thought it would be a good idea, seeing as I am trying out more and more different products, to share the best ones with you. The first is my new Ted Baker make up bag. It's one of the larger ones and was bought for me as a gift from my mum. I absolutely love it. It's probably more than I would normally consider spending on a make up bag but it is a luxury and quality item.

Next up is Johnson's daily essentials 24 hour day cream. I have been using this for a few months now and I am really enjoying it. I can't believe this product only retails at around the £4 mark. WHAT A BARGAIN. This makes my skin feels so soft and lovely and works well as a make up base as well. And of course it has that scent associated with Johnson's products that I guess I find kind of comforting and familiar. I think this will become a staple product in my skincare regime.

I decided this month that I needed to find a high street priced shampoo and conditioner that worked well with my hair as the one I had been using previously was from my hairdresser and was on the pricey side. It turned out my luck was in and the first one I tried was amazing . My hair absolutely loves the L'oreal Elvive Smooth Intense Anti-Frizz Shampoo and conditioner . They are enriched with Morocan Argan oil and i think this is the part that works so well for my hair as I have previously tried a couple of Avon items which contain it that have worked well. I have the sort of hair that needs washed every single day and to be quite honest it is a total pain, however with this shampoo and conditioner I can make it every two days which makes me sooo happy. You have no idea how excited i was by this!

And last but by no means least is Rimmel London products in general. Rimmel has been my staple kind of go to brand for years now. There products are in my budget and of a good quality and I really enjoy them. I have picked these three products in particular because I have particularly been enjoying them this month. The first is the Stay Matte Powder, I don't think I could do without this now. This is my second purchase of it and I just love how it makes my face look just such a nice finish. I know a lot of people would agree with me on my opinion on this product it's definitely one I will keep going back to. The second is the Glam Eyes Day 2 Night Mascara,  I think this may be a newish product or maybe I have just never noticed it before, it's new to me anyway. It has two seperate sections one gives length and the other volume. I love this product because it genuinely works so well. It doesnt clump and basically it does what it says. The mascara isn't too heavy and is just a pleasure to wear. Finally is the Wake Me Up Concealer, I have seen a lot of reviews about the Wake Me Up range and thought it was about time I gave it a go and I haven't regretted it. I get quite bad bags under my eyes and struggle to hide them , but this product does a good job of it. It's not so amazing as to complete erase them but definately hides them well for a product of such reasonable price.

So that's all I have for this month hopefully you find this interesting and useful. Feel free to leave me some feedback it's much appreciated.

It's Here!!!!!!!!!!!! Aug 2013 Glossy Box

I was so excited when this little parcel arrived at my door! This is my first ever Glossy Box and i am going to be honest and say......It felt like Christmas. Even the packaging is exciting. I love that the little box is of a quality that I could probably use them for some sort of storage.

But never mind the packaging what's inside is even more exciting! This month's box is the "High Flyers" box. So the idea is all the products are good for the girl on the go ! Just looking at the information leaflet got me excited.

So the products inside come from different parts of the world. There is a set of eyelash curlers by Emite Make Up from Sweden. These eyelash curlers really feel like a quality product. They are designed in a special way so that they don't touch your make up base. They retail at around £20, which I have to admit would probably be more than i would normally be willing to fork out for eyelash curlers, however having tried them out I would say they are well worth the money!

Next up is Urban Veda Turmeric and Botanics Radiance Day Cream. This says it is founded on ancient Indian Principles. I haven't use this product much yet but from the times I have used it it has been ok. Nothing spectacular . A little goes a long way and it does have a really nice fragrance. Thats about all I can say for now but will let you know more once I have used it up!

A product I was really excited about is the Oceane Make Up Remover Pen. This appealed to me straight away as I seem to be the worst for having black smudges all over my face!! It is so easy to use and comes with 3 refills which is great!! Not had much a chance to use yet but impressed so far! The only disappointment is that this product comes from Brazil and currently isn't available in the UK!

The USA brings us a Tresemme keratin smooth concentrated treatment Shot! I'm quite excited to try this product but not sure how it will be as Tresemme products just haven't agreed with my hair in the past.

Finally, the last product is from the good old UK. This is the Jelly Pong Pong 2-in--1 Shadow/Liner which retails at £10.50. I have never heard of this company before but this product is a great idea and does work really well. really great idea if you are on the go. Can be used as a normal eyeliner or smudge to use as a eyeshadow! Great!

So overall I am really impressed with this month's box and excited to use all the products. I am someone who can't afford to go out and spend a lot of money trying out new products all the time so this is the perfect solution for me. A set amount each month and i know the products i receive will be a good quality and more than worth the money I have paid for them! Can't wait for next month's box!! :)

Christmas in August!!

Well i think it's safe to say the christmas season is beginning! The shopping channels have been selling christmas related craft items for at least the past month. At work we are doing stock counts of our christmas stock . I may have a little confession to add in here ...............I started my Christmas shopping today!!! Am I mad???? I always thought people doing christmas shopping at this time of year must be some sort of crazy but now that I'm an adult and have bills to pay i think i understand why they do it! Christmas is expensive!!! Actually life is expensive these days . I don't understand why we feel the need to spread the cost over the year though. A lot of us clearly can't afford to spend as much as we do at christmas so why not just cut back?? We need to go back to a time when it wasn't the amount of presents you received or how much they cost, what really mattered was the thought behind the present. Why do we feel the need to spend so much?? Is it because our lifestyles are soooooo hectic these days?? We are always rushing around, do we not have the time to purchase thoughtful and meaningful gifts? Well this year i am going to make the time . I'm not going to spend a fortune on anyone but I am going to think about something that will really mean something to them and that they will really appreciate. Just as well i have started now then I guess!! :)

Save the Date

So lets jump straight in to the wedding related stuff. Something which seems to be more and more popular  with modern weddings is some sort of Save the Date card or other item! Whilst researching these i came across these Save the Date credit style cards. They come in a number of colours and designs and although not cheap i think they are reasonably priced for the quality of product you receive. The process is all done  through e-mail and they are so helpful in getting you what you want in a way that is convenient for you.  Anyway this is what we decided to go ahead with and i was sooo happy with the finished product i just had to recommend them! :-)
You can find them here

Enjoy x
