I'm getting really bad at doing regular blogs!!! Naughty Julie! Anyway I wanted to write a post today because now that I'm kind of getting my depression under control I decided it was time to do something about my weight. I'm not going to say what I weigh because quite frankly I am embarrassed that I let myself get this bad. I don't want to be super skinny or anything, and to be honest I don't think I could be even if I tried. I just want to be healthy and comfortable.
I have tried many diets over the years, from simple healthy eating to the biggest loser diet, the slim fast diet, and I have looked into many more and just never even got as far as trying them. I did manage to lose a lot of weight on the Biggest Loser, which was a meal replacement diet, a few years back and then I got lazy.
So when I decided that it was time to lose some weight I knew I needed to look into meal replacement diets because it is the only way I will stick to it. I looked into a few. One of my bridesmaids has just started the juice plus diet and seems to be getting on really well with it. I thought about doing the slim fast again but in the end I decided to go with the celebrity slim diet. You can pick this up in boots or order online if your boots is like my local one and doesn't have much of a selection.
It is an easy diet to follow you just replace two of your meals with the shakes, bars, or soups and then have a healthy meal either for lunch or dinner.
I'm finding the first week a little strange because you really have to cut down on carbohydrates and I have potatoes with a lot of my meals, or pasta. At the same time though it is interesting to discover some new healthy recipes to try.
I'm only 2 days in but I am feeling really positive and so far not feeling too hungry. Trying to keep myself busy so that I don't have time to get bored and think about food. I think that is my biggest problem, if I am on my own and bored I mistake boredom for hunger!!
Although I am not going to reveal my starting weight I am going to do weekly updates on how I'm doing and how much I am managing to lose.
Wish me luck :)
