I understand that most people will look at the title of this post and think either I have struggled with reading and writing or I'm boasting about something totally stupid! To me though this is an achievement that makes me so happy. When I was younger I never stopped reading books, but more recently I haven't been able to concentrate long enough to really get into a book. I think this is linked with my depression as it can make you have no interest in things you would normally enjoy doing and makes concentration very difficult. So you see to me the fact that I have managed to concentrate and stay interested in a whole book is a big step and I guess a bit of evidence that something I am doing is going right and although it might not seem like it on a day to day basis I am getting the depression under control at last!! Yey!
The book I managed to read is The Fault in Our Stars by John Green.
I picked it up the other day because I recognised the title and was sure I had heard some good comments about it although I wouldn't have been able to tell you what they were or what the book was going to be about.
I'm so glad I picked it up. It is so nicely written and although there are sad moments there are plenty of happy ones too! I really enjoyed this book and would recommend to anyone looking for a bit of light easy reading. I can see how it has become a best seller. Definitely one to keep on the book shelf and read again at some point in the future.
I can't wait to find another one to read now . Any suggestions? Have you read this book? What did you think?
